Happy Autumn

Friday, September 24th, 2010

The fall is a beautiful time of year but it can also be dangerous for your dog!  Remember that unless your area has had a deep freeze, you must continue to use your heart worm prophylaxis.  In addition to heart worm it also protects again parasites.   So think about using this product year round .

In addition to heart worm you should continue with flea protection. Remember those buggers are still very busy doing their damage.

So to sum up, please use all of your summer protection until the cold sets in and you have a deep freeze.

Be Wise And Be Careful!

Message Of The Day

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

The message of the day is get the right breed of dog for your family and your lifestyle.  It is imperative that you do your homework – get a general all breed book and see what each dog was bred for (is it a hunting breed, a toy breed, a working dog, etc.).   Know that this affects the personality of the dog.

Once you have made a list of those breeds that interest you, go to your local library and borrow breed books.   These give the history, confirmation, temperament and where these dogs will do best .  This information is very important :  for example if you live in an apartment you CAN NOT have a Boarder Collie!  He will tear you house apart.   On the other hand if you live on a farm this might be the perfect addition to your family.

Remember you  can always contact me and I will be more that happy to help you find your new friend.  We can discuss breeds and where to find a reliable breeder.  WE DO NOT GET A DOG FROM A DOG STORE OR THE NEWS PAPER OR EVEN OVER THE COMPUTER.  you don’t know who these people are and if they are reputable breeders!

Remember this beginning search is very important.  The end result is a bright, loving addition to your family who you will hopefully have any where from ten to fifteen years.
